Expectation
Levels of illumination are provided to minimise fatigue impacts
Specification
Requirements:
- Equipment is sourced and work environments designed to provide suitable levels of illumination for all work crews (and work times)
- Vehicle mounted and area lighting are provided
- Work environment monitoring is conducted regularly to confirm lighting levels meet site requirements
Implementation
- Commissioning and introduction of equipment to site confirm that illumination levels are adequate to meet site requirements
- Pre-start checks are conducted by workers to confirm that all work environment conditions meet site requirements
- Maintenance strategies for illumination devices are executed in line with schedules and/or as a defect/fault response
- Work environment monitoring is conducted on a regular basis
Monitoring
- Plant safety files are prepared and maintained for vehicles and engineered work locations
- Maintenance planners review completed work orders and pre-start forms and generate additional work orders and report on the status of work orders to senior site managers for resource planning and/or non-conformance responses
- Reports of work environment monitoring are prepared for review by senior site managers for resource planning and/or non-conformance responses
